Thirty years ago I wrote a book titled Your Aging Parents. Then a decade ago a friend with whom I am no longer in contact said, “You should write another book about us: Our Aging Selves. So Bonnie, thanks for the suggestion!
I turned another big -0 this year. And mostly I am amazed – to still be here, healthy, happy and relatively sane.
I wonder how many of us share that feeling? How did we manage to survive when we thought we couldn’t? Where did we find the strength to keep going, whether through illness, loss of parents or children, divorce, addictions, financial distress or traumatic events? How indeed?
I’ll share here my thoughts randomly as remembered experiences come up for me, in hopes that you can identify. I invite you to contact me with your thoughts and ideas as well. Here’s to successful seventies!
